lyrics

Kouta, grim man
Greatest wizard of the North
Green vipers were his gaze
His mouth spew blackest bats
From underfoot soared wolverines
Stoats ran on his arms
Raven resting on the head
and vultures on the shoulders

Veri verta vahvistavi,
Rauta raudan rohkaisevi,
Kylmä kylmän karkaisevi
On tuima Tuonen kulku,
elo kuoloa kovempi

Kouta, dreary
witch-master of Lapland
With all knowledge of mankind
and all wisdom of gods
Still he could not change his past
or bind the Blue Fire
On his quest for Greatest Power,
to Ascend, to Xeper

Veri verta vahvistavi,
Rauta raudan rohkaisevi,
Kylmä kylmän karkaisevi
On tuima Tuonen kulku,
elo kuoloa kovempi

He traveled the uncharted roads,
distances unfathomable
Through deadly blizzards and frozen lakes
His Black Flame burning bright
He had given up his blood,
struck a deal with Satan
And he killed off all his joys and laid curse upon his mother

Might of the thrice-locked Kouta
emanated far and wide
Awakened Väki of the Ground,
the Ur-Master of Mantu
He saw Kouta, boasted his might,
finding him hes equal
He knew Koutas destination
and mockingly told him

"How can you wish to become
all-knowing, but yet you are
not willing to give up your life?"

Kouta, gaunt man
Walked towards the dreaded gorge
Stars were scared and fell from Heavens
The dead trembled in their graves
Fear came to the House of Gods
Underworld froze in despair
Only one who was waiting
was the angry Ajatar

Veri verta vahvistavi,
Rauta raudan rohkaisevi,
Kylmä kylmän karkaisevi
On tuima Tuonen kulku,
elo kuoloa kovempi

From night of Death
roared gravely voice
From darkest forest
spoke Ajatar
"Only the living
have dreams of future
and the dead only
curse their past"
To ravine of Rutimo
walked Kouta
The stairds of Death
he climbed
Without hurry,
with steady pace
Pure agony was road to Hell
Yet life was more painful than Death

Elon huoli huomisesta
Mana mennyttä manaapi
On tuima Tuonen kulku,
elo kuoloa kovempi
